Cursed Child won a record 9 Olivier Awards

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won a record nine awards on the 2017 Olivier Awards. They were revealed in a star-studded ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Olivier Awards are presented annually to recognise excellence in theatre and are the UK’s most prestigious awards.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won in nine categories, including Best New Play. Congratulations to: Best New Play – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany Best Actor In A Play – Jamie Parker Best Supporting Actor In A Play – Anthony Boyle Best Supporting Actress In A Play – Noma Dumezweni Best Direction – John Tiffany Best Set Design – Christine Jones Best Costume Design – Katrina Lindsay Best Lighting Design – Neil Austin Best Sound Design – Gareth Fry Congratulations to the entire company and creative team. The Olivier Awards will be broadcast on ITV on 11 April at 8pm BST for UK viewers.
