Today is an excited day to us Potterheads: the new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the classic Hogwarts Library book will be released. The book has been brought up to date by J.K. Rowling with an additional six beasts, a brand new foreword from Magizoologist Newt Scamander and some beautiful line illustrations by artist Tomislav Tomic. The book will have 4 new editions: Print publishers Bloomsbury (UK) and Scholastic (US) have their own fresh artwork; Graphic artist Olly Moss designed the eBook cover of this new edition for Pottermore, and Eddie Redmayne has lent his voice to the new audiobook version. Like the updated print and eBook editions, the audio book contains a new foreword from Newt Scamander himself, hinting at some of what happened when he visited New York City in the year 1926 and since. It also details six new beasts, along with all of Newt’s already well-known discoveries. It comes with wonderfully mastered sound effects, too. Today Potterheads will also be able to buy the new US version of the Hogwarts Library box set. Inside readers will find books treasured by users of the great library at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Newt Scamander's master work on magical creatures; Quidditch Through the Ages, a comprehensive history of the game and its rules; and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, with an introduction and illustrations by J.K. Rowling and extensive commentary by Albus Dumbledore. The books can also be acquired separately.
The new UK version of the Hogwarts Library box set will be released on 20 April 2017. UK versions of Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard are already in the market since 12 January of this year.
Proceeds from the sale of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will go towards Comic Relief and Lumos – J.K. Rowling’s own children’s charity. Both charities aim to help some of the world’s most vulnerable children and young people have a better life.
